The UCLA CALL Appendix 13 —
Policy Applicable to the Use of
I. Associate Professor Step IVWhere a member of the faculty has been at the level of Associate Professor, Step III for at least five years without a merit advancement, the department may recommend his or her advancement to Associate Professor, Step IV or a change in series appointment to Lecturer SOE if the following conditions are met:
II. Associate Professor Step VAfter three years of service at Associate Professor, Step IV, the department may recommend advancement to Associate Professor, Step V. The same standards provided for advancement to Associate Professor IV under this policy apply to advancement to Step V. Within applicable maximum limits, where there is continued performance at the same level, appropriate off-scale salary increments may be granted to faculty who have served at the Associate Professor V step for more than three years.
III. Lecturers with Security of Employment (SOE)Lecturers SOE who transfer to that series under this policy may use the working title of Professorial Lecturer. Departmental recommendations under this policy are subject to review by the Dean and approval by the Chancellor. Change in series appointments under this policy are also subject to review by the Council on Academic Personnel. |
