Hellman Fellowships

Hellman Fellowships The UCLA Hellman Fellows Program was established by the Hellman Family Foundation to support and encourage the research of promising Assistant Professors who show capacity for great distinction in their research in the College of Letters and Science and the Professional and Health Science Schools (excluding the School of Dentistry and Medicine). Faculty in either their second or third year at the Assistant Professor rank are eligible to apply for a fellowship for the following year. (The appropriate title for eligible faculty in the School of Law is Acting Professor.) The fellowship will support research and creative activities that promote career advancement and enhance the individual’s progress toward tenure. Fellowships will be given without regard to the apparent timeliness or popularity of the field of study.
