Non-Senate Instructional Workload Policy

Workload for Non-Senate (Unit 18) Instructors:

9.0 IWCs per year = 100% per year

4.0 to 5.0 unit course = 1.0 IWC

2.0 unit course = 0.5 IWC

1.0 unit course = 0.25 IWC

 

Compensation for a co-taught course is split proportionally.

Applied Policy Project (APP) capstone seminar series advising:[1]

4 APP groups advised over 3 quarters = 2.0 IWC

3 APP groups advised over 3 quarters = 1.5 IWC

2 APP groups advised over 3 quarters = 1.0 IWC

1 APP group advised over 3 quarters = 0.5 IWC

 

Additional duties of an administrative nature can equal up to 0.5 IWC per quarter.

[1] The Applied Policy Project (APP) capstone is a year-long group-based policy analysis project conducted by small student groups. It is taught by ladder faculty and advised by lecturers, adjunct faculty, and ladder faculty. Each APP advisor is responsible for 1 to 4 student groups.
