Workloads for Unit 18 Lecturers

Non-Senate Instructional Workload Policy

Revised August 26, 2013

Per article 24 of the MOU, the full time (100%) instructional workload standard for NSF shall not exceed (9) courses or the equivalent.

LECTURERS

One course = 33% appointment for one quarter

Co-taught courses will result in the compensation being split proportionally.

Annual IWC

Number of liaison students for the academic/fiscal (based on appointment) year in 401A/B/C and/or 402A/B/C

• agency evaluation visits

• orientations and first year meetings in August and throughout year

• educational seminars/modules

• agency acquisition and screening (QA)

• community collaboration/coordination

• first year placement process

• second year placement process

• summer block placements

• Other activities that may not be noted above that are specific to liaison role.

1 IWC = 1 – 8 Students

2 IWC = 9 – 16 Students

3 IWC =17 – 24 Students

4 IWC = 25 – 32 Students

5 IWC= 33 – 40 Students

6 IWC = 41 – 48 Students

7 IWC = 49 – 56 Students

8 IWC = 57 – 64 Students

9 IWC = 65 – 72 Students

Responsibilities Specific to IUC

• unit consultant

• weekly macro supervision

• weekly group debrief

• weekly group supervision

• weekly and monthly training to interns

• co-supervise interns

• facilitate annual program evaluation

• read and interview prospective applicants for IUC

• coordinate DCFS processing meeting for graduating IUC interns courses

Field Seminar (all 1st year students, one section taught over 3 quarters = 1 IWC)
